[edit] History
- Wycliffe Bible Translators (WBT) has a remarkable record in single-minded dedication to the completion of translating the New and Old Testaments into the languages of the world. By 1999, WBT translators had completed 500 New Testaments and were involved in a further 1,100+ projects. Their staff numbers 6,000. However, this number masks the thousands of nationals and other partners that are also involved in the task. In 1999, WBT adopted a new vision, together with their partners worldwide, to start a Bible translation project in every language that needs one by 2025. This means working in new ways, training others and funding national teams to accomplish a task that would normally take 150 years.
