[edit] Uzbek

  • The 26,1 million Uzbeks live in Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan as well as Uzbekistan. Uzbeks are proud people: ‘Uzbek’ literally means ‘"master of himself". Many Uzbek really fear God. They happily receive prayer in the name of Jesus. They agree that the Old and New Testaments are their Scriptures too, and that Jesus will return to judge the world. Yet, according to statistics only 0.04% follow Jesus. God knows the exact numbers. The vision is to see indigenous and multiplying churches among the Uzbeks. So far only a handful of Uzbeks have committed their lives to follow Jesus. Please pray to God that much more will happen.
  • After sixteen years of recent mission history, a small persecuted Christian movement is trying to find its identity.
