• The urban poor are the biggest single challenge. Vast slums and squatter camps are mushrooming throughout Latin America, Africa and many parts of Asia. See for details in Urbanization. Appalling conditions and squalor make any Christian ministry difficult and complex. Wisdom is needed in knowing how to combine evangelism and social betterment without creating dependency or churches filled with those seeking escape from the system. Pray for the countless urban poor and for God's guidance as to how to work most effectively amongst them.
