[edit] Unreached People Group

[edit] What does "Unreached People Group" (UPG) mean?

The classic definition of an unreached people group is "a people group within which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians able to evangelize this people group."

When attempting to measure tihs, the original Joshua Project editorial committee selected the critieria of less than 2% Evangelical Christian and less than 5% Christian Adherents. The terms Unreached People Group (UPG) and Least-Reached People Group are used interchangably. Also RUP means nearly the same.

See also in the book of the 2004 Forum for World Evangelization the capital 6A. MINISTRY AMONG LEAST REACHED PEOPLE GROUPS (27% of the World).

[edit] Focus on Peoples

Praise the Lord, in a growing number of churches, a new mission model is taking hold! This is a vibrant, strategic model that goes right to the heart of the harvest: PEOPLES! This model has emerged from the very heart of God for all peoples. In the world's 234 geopolitical nations, there exist over 16,000 distinct, ethnic cultures.
