• For Uganda, the last 18 years have been troublesome. The Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), a rebel militant group, has been causing havoc in Northern Uganda. The Uganda Emergency is expanding, and more districts in Northern Uganda have been affected by the LRA. This rebel force has sent many civilians fleeing from their homes and communities to find safety. More than 1.6 million Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) fled from 9 districts in Northern Uganda to find refuge. These people now live in overcrowded churches, schools and other buildings which have been turned into makeshift refugee camps.

• Yoweri Museveni gained power in 1986 and has gradually brought a measure of stability unknown for 25 years.

Loving unity in Christ. Reconciliation is needed between tribes, between Protestant and Catholic, revived and non-revived, charismatic and non-charismatic.

Continued renewal. While most of the population claims to be Christian, widespread polygamy, a culture of promiscuity and paying mere lip-service to God, belies this.

Training of a new generation of leaders. Pray for the preparation of spiritual, godly leaders.
