Tentmakers International Congress 2007
From Missiopedia
- Back to Conferences
Leaders from various fields (sports, professionals, business, student movement, entrepreneurs, etc.) will gather here in Malaysia for these 3 days to prayerfully learn and seek His face... with a desire that HE will be worshipped, in Jerusalem, Judea & Samaria, and in the ends of the earth
Tentmakers are Great Commission Christians who integrate work and witness through secular employment or study. There are 3 broad categories in "tentmaking":
- Lifestyle (LOCAL) : This is where ALL Christians are challenged to live their lives in a way that demonstrates the hope of the Gospel to colleagues who do not know Him.GOAL: Christian Maturity
- Circumstantial (FOREIGN) : This is where a Christian may be moved or transferred to another country. He/she is then equipped to be a witness on the job and in free time.GOAL: Christian Witness
- Missionaries (CROSS-CULTURAL) : This is where a Missionary utilizes his skill, experience and training in a secular position (job) or furthers his/her studies in a cross-cultural context in order to reach People with little or no access to the Gospel. GOAL: Church Planting
The hope of TIMC2007 is to challenge all three aspects of tentmaking, with particular focus on missionary-tentmakers to creative access (closed) countries with little or no access to the Gospel. Who should come :
