Missions has been in the Bible throughout the whole of the Old Testament and New Testament. In this section we will present a survey of the Biblical verses dealing with missions and God's heart for the nations.

The following verses are key for a "60-second tour" of missions throughout the Bible. If you are presenting the continuity of God's heart for the nations, these are some of the verses that you might use.
- Genesis 12:1-3 - "all peoples on earth will be blessed through you" (NIV)
- Deuteronomy 4:6-8 - "this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations" (NIV)
- 1 Kings 8:41-43, 59-60 - "so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name" (NIV)
- Isaiah 49:6 - "I will also make you a light for the Gentiles" (NIV)
- Psalm 45:17 - "the nations will praise you for ever and ever" (NIV)
