Lifewind Intl. Empowering Community Transformation

  • Over one billion people do not have access to clean drinking water (see water). Ten million children die each year before the age of five, most from preventable diseases. And almost two-thirds of the world’s population is walking in spiritual darkness. Lifewind Intl. is making a big dent in these devastating statistics. Through Community Health Evangelism (CHE), Lifewind equips nationals to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of their own people, and communities develop long-term solutions rather than short-term relief. They engage entire communities, not just a few individuals. First of all, CHE conducts training sessions for teams going into all parts of the world. A team of four will go into a village and share the vision for holistic development. Volunteers are recruited to visit every home, teaching health basics, sanitation, and nutrition. Children are inoculated against infectious diseases. Christ is shared in every home. As people come to Christ, they come together to meet the needs of their neighbours. Water sources are protected, gardens are tended, small businesses develop, churches are planted and churches grow. In the Congo, villages where there is CHE have half the child mortality rate of other villages! An average of one in three people receive Christ. The program multiplies from village to village. Lifewind has assisted 450 mission agencies and churches to use this CHE strategy. Pray for continued exponential growth of CHE as it reaches the whole person physically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially.
