Born 1803 in Waiblingen/Germany

He worked first in Southern Russia, later he had to leave Russia, and he moved to Iran worked there among the Muslims, he travelled very widely from an area, which is now Pakistan to Turkey and many places between. Beside of European languages He was fluent at least in Araban and Persian. He was an orientalist.

1835 he has written and published his book Mizanu'l Haqq:in Persian, later also in Urdu, Balance of Truth in English, this book is up-to-now a source for Christian apolegets in the evangelization among Moslems. Part I of the book is dealing with: In Proof That The Old Testament And The New Are The Word Of God, And That They Have Been Neither Corrupted Nor Abrogated. Many bookes have been written against this book, mainly in Arabian and Persian languages. His two others books are Miftâh-ul-Asrâr, or "Key of Mysteries"; and Tarîq-ul-Hyât, or " Way of Salvation."

From 1858 - 1865 he lived in Istanbul, he died 1865 there.
