Futuristics is the study of the future. It is not the same as Eschatology. Futuristics is comprised of the scientific creation of scenarios, the assessment of each scenario for its probability, and the analysis of whether the scenario is desirable or not. None of the scenarios are intended to be exactly true, but are rather to be portraits of possible futures. Futuristics is meant to be an aide to policy planning.
