[edit] Corruption

[edit] One example from Central Asia

  • Corruption and injustice are a huge problem in a certain Central Asian country. Many people are trapped in poverty and held down even further by having to pay bribes to get out of unjust actions by police and officials. Local believers face harsh penalties for crimes related to their faith, such as holding illegal meetings, because the officials are hoping for a bribe. Foreign believers, too, are vulnerable and become discouraged. Please pray for:
    • A radical change through people with influence in society (police, government, lawyers, teachers) becoming believers and living out a new lifestyle. Believers to be strong and wise in living righteous lives, ‘children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation’ (Philippians 2:15). Foreign workers seeking to help God’s kingdom grow to be strong, bold and to persevere.
