  • 1960: Pat Robertson founds The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) with a defunct Portsmouth, Virginia, television station.
  • 1961: CBN begins broadcasting from WYAH-TV in Portsmouth.
  • 1963: CBN conducts its first telethon to raise $7,000, with Pat Robertson requesting 700 supporters give $10 a month (thus giving birth to the 700 Club).
  • 1965: The 700 Club program is added to the end of CBN's broadcast day.
  • 1976: CBN's first international broadcast is heard daily in the Philippines.
  • 1977: CBN launches the first basic TV cable network with satellite transmissions of religious and syndicated family shows.
  • 1978: Operation Blessing International Relief and Development Corporation, an affiliate organization, is established to help disadvantaged people.
  • 1982: CBN launches Middle East Television Network (METV) in Lebanon and Israel.
  • 1988: CBN Cable is renamed the CBN Family Channel.
  • 1990: The CBN Family Channel is sold to International Family Entertainment, Inc.
  • 1994: CBN Asia is launched.
  • 1995: CBN WorldReach is launched.
  • 1997: METV begins satellite broadcasts over the entire Middle East region.
  • 2001: METV is sold to LeSEA Broadcasting.
