- 01 September - 30 September 2008 30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World. 30-Days International writes the materials and coordinate the translation into some 40 languages where booklets are distributed from around 30 offices around the world.
- This call to prayer for Muslims originally came during a meeting of several Christian leaders in the Middle East in 1992. These men and women strongly sensed God’s desire to call as many Christians as possible to pray for the Muslim world. The prayer movement was planned to coincide with the Islamic month of Ramadan.
- Why pray for Muslims? Our Lord’s desire is that all men would come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). God has actually started a new creation through Christ Jesus. He is rescuing and recreating our world. God is calling all people to participate in His new world which began with Christ’s resurrection. The Gospel calls us to enter into the life of the world to come. There shall be a new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells (Isaiah 65:17 and 2 Peter 3:13). The zeal of the Lord will accomplish it (Isaiah 9:7).
- Worldwide, Christians unite in prayer in a very special way during the same time frame. For 30 days, Christians pray and intercede for Muslims to know Jesus, not just as a great prophet, but rather as their personal advocate before the Father for them, who wants all Muslims everywhere to be saved. The assuring knowledge of salvation and forgiveness of sins and kingdom living is what Islam cannot and does not offer any Muslim.
- The goal of this prayer guide is to inspire and guide each reader as he or she intercedes for the Muslim world. It is far from being completely informative about the Muslim world. However, each article will give you some ideas about the needs of Muslims. God is able to reach Muslims. He wants many of them to come to know Him.
- In the last years many people in Muslim countries have learned of Jesus the son of God and have entrusted him with their lives. We know from the Bible that one reason they are coming to Christ is because of the prayers and intercessions of the saints. Tools such as this “30-Days Muslim Prayer Guide” help Christians to pray daily, united by theme, for the whole Muslim world. Join us again this year and believe God for the salvation of many Muslims who are still without the knowledge of Christ Jesus.
